Among all the bike rides around Amsterdam, this outta be one of my favorites, and here I’ll write about the first time we conquered it!
The way there is fabulous: the lovely fishermen village of Durgerdam is just a stone-throw away from Amsterdam, yet it seems stuck centuries in the past. Then you follow the coastline all the way to the island… as you maybe remember from my previously failed attempt to reach it!
This time around I went there with my friend Bert, we cycled all the way to the eastern tip, where you can see this bad-ass, marvelous lighthouse.

The bike ride I’ll talk about today was the first bike ride of 2012. As tradition wants, it was the ride to go to the birthday party of my friend in Rotterdam!
I left at 8am in the morning, it was still darkish. Soon I was cycling down the Amstel river, the light was dim and the air was crisp.

The cycling season 2013 has officially begun! Yesterday I went for the first long ride of the year, and what a ride it has been! Hi all, long time no see! I left you at the beginning of my bike tour from Amsterdam to Paris, almost three monts ago already! No worries, I have safely come back home since then, only the blogging seems to have suffered from it. I’ll maybe go over it in another post. Here I just want to share a tiny selection of my two-wheeled adventure through the unforgiving spring of 2012!
